Allow me !
Back in the 60's, I made the mistake of signing a guestbook at the Mormon pavilion in the NY World's Fair (world's fairs seem to have been long discontinued)&, as a result, received calls from a pair of Mormon missionaries. They gave me a copy of the Book of Mormon & urged me to scheldule a date for baptism. I, however, soon read extensively in their secret Book of Doctrines & Covenants & was turned off by the strange additions they made to already rejected by me Genesis fundamentalism. I also read the Book of Abraham, which further increased my awry feeling.

At the same time, some other church which had a pavilion or booth at the NY World's Fair & thought I had signed a commitment, wrote to ask me why I never returned the lesson they sent, to be filled out and returned as lesson 1 (I had decided NOT to commit myself) and said they would send a bishop to me about my commitment to Christ. At that point my mother urged me to write a letter explaining that, after much thought, I had decided not to leave the church I was born into, and to send a copy to each (Mormons and this other church). I did as mother advised and neither church ever bothered me or contacted me again. I've forgotten the name of this other fundamentalist church, but my dislike of mormonism has grown ever since, even tho I hid it well when me & my folks visited and were later visited by some Mormon friends (now deceased).

Now, I read the wiki description of requirements, training, and such for missionaries. I do not meet ANY of their requirements, and to put my very life on the shelf lacks appeal. I also have poor ability to learn a foreign language, even as parrot talk, due to my brain structure and hearing problems. Food is also an obstacle. I much like steak, pork, lambchops, with vegetable and mashed (or baked or boiled)potatoes, along with chilled milk or a pepsi. Even out west, I had problems getting these. To go to where they eat goat or fish ...

Also the political matters. Missionaries jailed or murdered !

Now, as a result of my 60's experience, I have not visited any religious pavilions in the Knoxville world's fair, and never signed my right name or address to any Mormon guestbook. A planned trip to 4(four) NY Mormon sites was cut short after 2(two) due to evangelist work on visitors.
